233 Runs Later: Vini, Cucurri, Vici #OccupyPavement

Eleven months ago, I wrote a post about rediscovering running and simultaneously dealing with me, old-man-me and teenage-me. If you know me, you’ll understand the potential complexity of a situation like that. (Link: http://randomgeekshui.com/running-away-from-the-old-man-me)

In it, I explained that, on November 9, 2011, I set a goal for myself. I wanted to run a 10K (scheduled for February 2012), for the first time in 10+ years. In December 2011, I ran a 5K. Then, in January 2012, I got impatient and ran a 10K. In February, I ran the 10K that was the focus of my initial goal and bettered my previous time by 3 minutes.

My self-motivation for the #OccupyPavement movement

Yesterday, I saw a sign in a running store that had the quote below. Today, I took a photograph of my feet before I ran four miles. Tonight, I Photoshopped the photo and included the quote.

Yes, call me weird. I made my own motivational poster. What can I say? Stuff like that keeps my boat afloat. If it happens to float yours as well, feel free to download it for your own, personal use.
