J&D’s Bacon Salt: The Coveted Prize in the Latest “Virtual Karma Counts” Contest
April 5, 2010 - By Justin E. Gehrke
If you follow us on Twitter, you know if there is anything we love more than technology and shiny new gadgets, it’s bacon. We love to eat it, tweet about it, post photos of it, and generally discuss it until the elusive #Bacon Bot shows up. We’re not the only ones, though. There are thousands (maybe even millions) of people who tweet about bacon on Twitter, each and every day. So, in a tribute to both bacon and all those who tweet about it, Geek Shui Living is proud to announce that we’ve dug deep into our piggy bank (no pun intended) to purchase and give away 2-ounces of J&D’s Bacon Salt¹, to one lucky winner.
The rules² are simple:
- Leave a comment on this post, telling us, in 25 words or less, how you think Bacon Salt makes the world a better place. It can be funny or sincere, but, remember, creativity is king! In place of a personal or business website, include the URL for your Twitter account (i.e. http://twitter.com/geekshui).
- Then, Tweet the following: “Hey, @GeekShui wants to know how Bacon Salt has made the world a better place. Enter to win it here: http://bit.ly/c4bmZ2 #GeekShui”
(Important: If you retweet our tweet, be certain to do it the manual way. The new retweet method prevents it from showing up in our timeline, which means no Bacon Salt for you.)
The contest begins today, April 5, 2010. Registration closes Friday, April 9, 2010, at 12:00 PM EST. One lucky winner will be selected the very same day! Make sure you read the detailed rules below, because attention to detail also counts.
That’s it. No following simply because you want to win something. Just comment and tweet. It couldn’t be any easier than that!

I’m a salt tooth first of all – couldn’t live w/out it & adding bacon to that is genius! FTW!
Bacon salt lets you add the goodness of bacon to everything – even ice cream! – without the hassle of having to fry it up on demand.
Bacon salt makes the world a better place because now young and old, omnivore and herbivore can indulge in the marriage of two of nature’s most favored flavors. Globally we can raise our asparagus spears, turkey legs, matzos balls, tofu, plantain and fried tortillas in celebration of global and flavor unity.
Bacon Salt saved my gramma from an attacking bear. She sprinkled it on the floor as a distraction and escaped into the night.
Bacon Salt would make my three-year-old happy. He lists his favorite candy as “Bacon Gum” and sliced ham as “bacon meat”.
If Bacon Salt and Chuck Norris got in a fight, Bacon Salt would win.
Tiger Woods biggest affiair was with Bacon Salt.
Jesse James didn’t screw around on Sandra Bullock, he is in rehab for an addiction to Bacon Salt.
Bacon Salt, one salt to rule them all!
I put salt on everything, everything. Bacon Salt would bring my love of Salt and Bacon together and every morning I would wake with a smile knowing all the salty bacony goodness I would soon be ingesting.
Hunter’s in love with bacon-flavored anything. Whatever makes a whiny three-year-old happy even for a brief moment, makes the world a better place!
What is there that can be said..
BACON
in powdered add to whatever you want format.
its bacon you can carry and add to stuff. was there ever a more worthy invention?
Well apart from the BaconFax I am currently working on, but even that is made better with the ability to sprinkle bacon salt onto the fax’d bacon.
Bacon Salt FTW!
